The Consumer Agency has been tasked with strengthening consumer protection in connection with telephone sales.
The task applies to all industries, but Minister for Civil Affairs Erik Slottner (Christian Democrats) singles out the sale of lottery tickets and credits. In the background, there is, among other things, the Social Democratic Party's heavily criticized lottery operations.
It has absolutely played a role. The Consumer Agency has initiated a special review and has also given criticism to individual operators, he said at a press conference.
It is absolutely one of the cornerstones of this task.
According to Erik Slottner, there is, however, a similar problematique, among other things, in the sale of telecom and electricity agreements over the phone.
This is an example of industries where we see that there are problems. But the Consumer Agency will go through all industries, he says.
