Incredibly pleasing, says Culture Minister Parisa Liljestrand (M) who, however, cannot promise that the proposal will ultimately become a reality.

There is much that must be weighed in when the government presents its budget.

Parisa Liljestrand recently met with parts of Sweden's dance band scene to "listen in on how the industry views the situation".

Other cultural areas have a VAT rate of 6 percent, they think they are being treated unfairly. This is a huge part of many Swedes' daily lives and many Swedes' opportunity to engage in culture.

Another issue that the music industry is raising ahead of the upcoming budget negotiations is the reduced allocations to study associations by 500 million. Previously this spring, artists like Lars Winnerbäck, Jill Johnson, Per Gessle, E-Type, and Tobias Forge in Ghost signed a protest against the country's rehearsal rooms risking a third of the country's rehearsal rooms disappearing due to lower state allocations. "Tone-deaf" to save on young people, emphasized Martin E-Type Eriksson.

It is clear that I take seriously a question where the industry is warning that there may be worse accessibility throughout the country, says Parisa Liljestrand.

Then one must also remember that it is still quite a lot of tax money that is distributed to adult education and study associations – it is ultimately up to the industry itself where the money should be placed.
