It was in connection with last year's budget that The Liberals' spokesperson for disability policy Malin Danielsson stated that "in the future, we will introduce, for the coming year, an indexation of the standard amount" for personal assistance.
In a PowerPoint slide from the Government Offices, it also appeared that an indexation of the amount "will be introduced".
This was interpreted as a promise by the assistance industry, which got hope for long-term and more predictable conditions.
Last budget
But when the government presented its last ordinary budget for the electoral period a week ago, there was no indexation included.
And on Friday, the presentation slide, which is uploaded on the government's website, has been added a correction: "In this presentation slide, the information - that an indexation of the standard amount will be introduced and that the hourly amount will be increased - does not match the budget bill for 2025."
Also present at the press conference a year ago where the slide was shown were Social Minister Jakob Forssmed (KD) and Minister for Social Services Camilla Waltersson Grönvall (M).
"Have not promised"
Grönvall also writes about the correction on Facebook.
"The images showed text that did not match the budget bill for 2025."
Furthermore, she now says that the government "intends to investigate the introduction of an indexation of the standard amount", which is also stated in the 2026 budget bill.
"The government, together with the Sweden Democrats, has not promised anything else.”
Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (M) has also stated that the four Tidö parties never promised any indexation, which has led to her, Grönvall, and Jakob Forssmed being accused of breach of promise and reported to the Riksdag's Constitutional Committee.
