Search engine giant Google is facing a multi-billion-sek fine in a dispute with German price comparison sites. In Sweden, Pricerunner has sued Google for a multi-billion-sek fine in a similar case.

A court in Germany has ordered Google to pay a total of 573 million euros, equivalent to around 6 billion kronor, in two competition cases, writes Bloomberg.

The lawsuits and rulings fall back on the European Commission's 2017 decision that prohibited Google from favoring its own price comparison site over others.

In Sweden, Pricerunner has sued Google for 77 billion kronor – a lawsuit that the American corporate giant has strongly opposed. Google claims, among other things, that the company has made major changes since the EU's decision eight years ago.
