Terror-stamped Hamas, which dominates the political landscape in large parts of Gaza, is among the factions that agree to the handover.
The message came in a joint statement on Friday after a meeting in Egypt's capital Cairo. In the written statement, it was established that "the rule of the Gaza Strip shall be temporarily handed over to a Palestinian committee consisting of independent 'technocrats' who will handle issues of (daily) life and basic services."
The statement also states that the technocratic rule shall "cooperate with Arab brothers" and with international institutions.
The issue of the future rule of Gaza – and the proposal for an independent technocratic rule – has been part of the negotiations on the future of the Gaza Strip.
The joint statement was published on the Islamist Hamas website.
