G20 Foreign Ministers Skip Group Photo Over European Objections to Russia’s Lavrov

The G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Atlanta apparently won't be immortalized with a group photo - European countries are refusing to be photographed alongside Russia's Sergei Lavrov.

The customary group photo of all the participating ministers, with host Marco Rubio in the center, will not be taken at the G20 meeting in Atlanta, according to the AP news agency.

Rubio is said to have canceled the photo session after several European participants threatened to walk out if Russian representative Lavrov was present.

The meeting, which began on Friday afternoon in Sweden, is intended to lay the groundwork for the G20 meeting in Miami in December, hosted by President Donald Trump.

Russia has already announced that Lavrov will use this weekend’s meeting to argue against international sanctions on Russia.
