It was in the Nations League match against Denmark at Strawberry arena on Tuesday that the Swedish national team star Fridolina Rolfö injured her foot and was forced to withdraw after almost 20 minutes of play.
The day after, the Swedish Football Association announced that it was not a fracture.
”The initial examination after the match states that Fridolina has not been affected by a fracture. Now Fridolina is traveling home to her club team for further management, and this is done in dialogue between Barcelona's and the national team's medical team", said national team doctor Houman Ebrahimi to the association's website.
On Saturday evening, Barcelona posted a film on Instagram – ahead of the Spanish cup final against Atlético Madrid – where Rolfö is seen with crutches and her left foot in a walking boot.
National team coach Peter Gerhardsson will present his team for the European Championship in Switzerland on Wednesday. The tournament begins on July 2. Sweden will play its first match on July 4 against Denmark in Geneva.
