"I am very skeptical about this Norwegian and Finnish initiative. It is not coordinated with the rest of us," Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen told Danish TV2.
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson had not received any advance information about the conversation either. He has so far not seen anything come out of previous talks with Putin, he told the media on the sidelines of the Nordic Council meeting in Helsinki, emphasizing that Sweden's position is that peace must be achieved on Ukraine's terms.
If talks lead to peace, they are good, he says, but adds that Russia's actions on the ground do not indicate that the country wants to end the fighting.
"I have pretty low expectations for this kind of conversation," he says, according to DN.
