He is so involved that he should be considered as a perpetrator, says prosecutor Ida Arnell.
Under the aliases "Ghost" and "Ghost Worldwide", the 29-year-old man from abroad has organized and controlled Foxtrot's "performers" in Sweden to commit serious crimes, according to Arnell.
Last year, the man – who was arrested in Greece in the spring of 2023 and extradited to Sweden – was sentenced to 18 years in prison for serious drug offenses and accessory to attempted murder. At that time, he had coordinated a shooting in Sundbyberg outside Stockholm in 2021, where a man was seriously injured.
Three serious crimes
On Friday, the man was charged with being behind three more serious violent crimes: a murder, an attempted murder, and a case of preparation for murder.
In all three of these cases, it is previous performers who have been convicted, and also so-called facilitators, says Ida Arnell, who believes that the 29-year-old is to be considered as a coordinator for violent crimes high up in the chain and closely linked to the Foxtrot network.
The murder concerns a 15-year-old boy who was shot to death with a shot to the head inside a sushi restaurant in Skogås south of Stockholm in January 2023. A peer of the same age has previously been convicted of the murder, and several others have been convicted of involvement.
Gang conflict
The fatal shooting is linked to the conflict between Foxtrot and the Dalen network and was, according to the investigation, a revenge for the 15-year-old having shot at a residential building where a relative of Foxtrot leader Rawa Majid lived.
The shooter in Skogås followed instructions he received in chats. There, the 29-year-old was a driving person and was in direct contact with the person who gave the final order to enter the restaurant and kill the 15-year-old, according to the prosecutor.
The man is charged primarily with murder and secondarily with incitement to murder.
The other two incidents concern plans to murder people in the Stockholm area in January and December 2022, including a rapper linked to the Dalen network. The man is also charged with aggravated weapons offenses and serious drug offenses.
He denies the crimes.
He has not made any statements at all, says Ida Arnell.
A large part of the shootings and explosions that occurred in the Stockholm region during the first half of 2023 was linked by the police to a conflict between the Foxtrot and Dalen networks.
The conflict was based on competition for drug markets between the networks, which both conducted large-scale drug operations in adjacent areas. The conflict mainly concerned claims to the drug market in Stockholm and Sundsvall. In addition, the conflict was driven by a desire for revenge for previous violent crimes, according to the police.
The conflict intensified at the end of 2022 and has resulted in a long series of serious violent crimes, including murders, attempted murders, and explosions. These have mainly occurred in Stockholm, but also in Sundsvall and Uppsala.
