The crimes the 30-year-old was convicted of are linked to the gang war between Foxtrot and the Dalen Network, which was at its worst in 2023. According to the verdict, he ordered acts of violence from abroad.

This includes a shooting in southern Stockholm in 2023, when two boys were tasked with shooting “anyone” wearing an expensive jacket or a Gucci cap. A man who happened to fit the description was shot but survived.

Shafie was acquitted on some counts but was still sentenced to life imprisonment. He was convicted of, among other things, aiding and abetting attempted murder and preparation for murder.

Shafie is said to have been close to wanted Foxtrot leader Rawa Majid. He was arrested in Iraq in 2023 and extradited to Sweden last year.
