The police, ambulance, and rescue services were alerted to Highway 73 in Haninge Municipality, south of Stockholm, at around 10 pm on Saturday evening.

Three people had been hit while standing by a stationary car, according to the police website.

As I understand it, the car was being towed. They were standing by the side of the car and got hit, says Nadya Norton to Expressen.

The three individuals, as well as the driver of the car that hit them, were taken to the hospital, all with serious injuries. A report has been filed for causing bodily harm and reckless driving.

Sudden Ice

According to the police, there was sudden ice on the spot – something that is happening in large parts of the country. The police in Västra Götaland, Västmanland, Uppsala, and Gävleborg have all warned about the ice and urged drivers to be cautious on the roads.

We've had two traffic accidents with injuries and four traffic accidents without injuries. It's very icy, says Carina Andersson, duty officer at the police in Region Stockholm, about the situation during the night towards Sunday.

According to the Swedish Transport Administration's road map, there is a risk of ice in large parts of the country and on several occasions, there are warnings about slippery road surfaces.

Collision with Snowplow

One person was taken to the hospital after a car collided with a snowplow on E4 north of Sävar, reports Folkbladet. In Nyköping Municipality, a bus and a car collided, according to Södermanlands Nyheter, and in Region Jönköping, several accidents of lesser severity have occurred, according to the police.

A number of car accidents, including a fatal accident, also occurred earlier on Saturday evening.
