Four parties will be part of the new Greenlandic government, confirms Demokraatit's leader Jens-Frederik Nielsen to the Greenlandic newspaper Sermitsiaq.

A total of five parties were elected to the Inatsisartut, the Greenlandic parliament, and according to KNR, all parties except the second-largest Nalertaq – which wants to see a fast track to independence – are part of a new coalition agreement. The agreement will be signed on Friday.

Nalertaq dropped out of the government negotiations three days ago when they and the largest party Demokraatit (The Moderate Party) could not reach an agreement on Greenland's independence from Denmark – although they could agree on several other issues.

The four parties that now form the government have a total of 75 percent of the votes.

Before the government can officially take office, it must be approved by parliament.
