Four teenage boys were shot in a subway in Fruängen in southern Stockholm on March 2. One of them was hit in the head and died a few days later.
"The shot was fired at close range and the murder cannot be described as anything other than a pure execution," says senior prosecutor Ingrid Viklund in a press release.
The 16-year-old suspected shooter was arrested a short time later near the crime scene. He is charged with murder and attempted murder. The other three are charged with aggravated aiding and abetting a criminal for booking a taxi for the shooter.
The crime scene investigation shows that at least nine shots were fired at the scene with the weapon the 16-year-old was carrying when he was arrested. The prosecutor's office believes that the crime was committed on behalf of other people, but the investigation has not been able to provide an answer as to who the instigator was.
The 16-year-old is also charged with preparation for murder. A couple of days before the murder in Fruängen, he traveled to Rinkeby with a gun to shoot another victim. Another of the four is also charged with instigation of this act.
