Forssell says in the interview that the government has asked for a proposal that could give the affected group more time to complete high school.
Students who attend high school should complete it, Forssell tells the radio.
The teenage deportations, where young people are told when they turn 18 that they will be deported from Sweden even though their families are allowed to stay, have been criticized by several quarters. Both Forssell and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) have previously referred to an investigation that could include a possible safety valve.
The government has not given any information about when such a decision might be ready.
