The radiation safety at the Forsmark nuclear power plant receives a lower rating from the Radiation Safety Authority. The assessment is now "acceptable", which is a lower level than the previous year.
According to the Radiation Safety Authority, the operation at the facility has been stable over the past year. However, according to the authority, Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB needs to improve its ability to handle long-term issues. It also needs to ensure the robustness of the reserve power diesel generators and auxiliary cooling water shafts at Forsmark 1 and 2.
"It will take several years to restore the status of the reserve power diesel generators to a satisfactory level", the authority writes in a press release.
