The former politician has, among other things, admitted that he signed and submitted his deceased father’s tax returns to the Swedish Tax Agency.
The man’s parents left Sweden when they retired but remained registered at their son’s address. When his father died in 2017, his death was not reported to the Swedish authorities, and the pension continued to be paid.
The former politician has now repaid the debt to the Swedish Pensions Agency (Sweden’s pension authority).
The man has stepped down from all his political posts but held several positions of trust in the Sweden Democrats (a political party) for ten years.
