The former Real Madrid coach Leo Beenhakker is dead, according to Dutch NOS. The great coach, who won three league titles with the club, was 82 years old.

The Dutchman Leo Beenhakker began his coaching career in the 1960s and has managed to train numerous top clubs and national teams during his over 50-year-long career.

Among other things, he has won the Dutch league with both Feyenoord and Ajax, a feat that few coaches have achieved.

It was Beenhakker who recruited Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Ajax from Malmö FF in 2001.

In addition, he has been the coach for the Dutch, Polish, and Saudi national teams. Beenhakker was also the coach for Trinidad and Tobago's national team during the 2006 World Championship, when the country played 0–0 against Sweden.

But he is most associated with Real Madrid, where he won three consecutive league titles between 1986 and 1989.

The great coach was 82 years old.
