The crime was discovered after GP's revelation that three politicians in Alingsås, including a top Left Party politician, had a secret chat group called "Gingänget". There they secretly settled various issues and slandered colleagues.

The Left Party politician has now been convicted of eleven counts of embezzlement and 35 counts of breach of trust against a principal. Among other things, she used the Left Party's bank card to buy gift cards that were supposed to go to needy children, but instead kept the money herself.

The punishment will be a suspended sentence and daily fines. She will also have to pay damages to the Left Party Alingsås and another former employer.
