Five people from the same family - three children and their parents - were killed when Israel attacked an apartment in northwestern Gaza, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Civil Defense, which was confirmed by al-Shifa Hospital.
The only survivor in the family was a child who was not in the home.
Residents of the building say there was no warning of the attack. Pictures from the AFP news agency show large parts of the building's facade torn away.
According to an Israeli spokesperson, an attack was carried out against a “Hamas terrorist.”
Three people were killed when an Israeli airstrike hit a group of civilians in Gaza City, and additional people were killed elsewhere in Gaza.
