When the first police patrols entered Campus Risbergska in Örebro on February 4, they caught sight of Rickard Andersson. He was approximately 50 meters away. There were also three fire doors with heavy glass between the police and Rickard Andersson, according to sources to SvD.

The newspaper writes that the police investigation shows that Andersson fired several shots at the police with a large-caliber weapon. The shots went through the glass to the three fire doors.

The police never fired back. It has previously been said that they could not shoot back safely.

The technical investigation shows that the police service weapons could not even penetrate the glass to the first fire door. Nor could the police reinforcement weapons have gone through all three doors, according to sources to the newspaper.

Colleagues who were first on the scene could have emptied the entire magazine at the perpetrator, but it would not have made a difference, says a police officer with insight into the investigation to SvD.

After Rickard Andersson shot at the police, he fired two more shots, one that did not hit anyone and one shot that ended his life.
