Work on the report will continue in the Riksdag, where a number of proposed measures have been presented, including appointing a Sami state secretary at the Prime Minister's Office.
Orpo believes that it is "quite clear" that an apology should be made for the state's historical transgression.
Since the parliamentary group includes all parties, its first task will be to consider how and when this apology will be made.
The report highlights, among other things, that the Sami were not involved in the NATO process and the military DCA agreement with the US, despite military exercises in northern Finland. This requires an acknowledgement that the Sami were forgotten.
If it is perceived this way, we should take it seriously and evaluate how it happened from the Sami point of view, says Orpo.
