The prolonged labor dispute in the Finnish aviation industry is over after the trade union Luftfartsunionen (IAU) and the industry organization reached a result in the negotiations, reports Hufvudstadsbladet.
Late on Saturday evening, the third negotiation proposal was approved by both parties and there will therefore be no more strikes. The strikes that were previously announced on five occasions during the next two weeks are cancelled.
The conflict that led to the ground staff going on strike was about whether omitted salary increases during the corona pandemic would be taken into account in the next agreement.
Over 1,200 flights have been cancelled since the beginning of May as a result of the intermittent strike and thousands of passengers have been affected.
