"The decision is not at all in proportion to the mistake that was made and we will appeal. There was no intent or any possibility of a sporting advantage due to this. We believe it is extremely harsh to take away from us ten recorded points," says club director Daniel Fåhraeus to the club's website.

In order for a player to be considered homegrown, she must have been registered in Sweden for at least three seasons during her junior time. Skellefteå has had nine homegrown players in the team in four matches, but the minimum requirement is ten.

Skellefteå's 31 points shrink to 21 and the team drops three places in the table, where they lie eighth after the deduction.
