The Financial Supervisory Authority (FI) is adding 50 new names to its warning list for scammers. Consumers are being swindled out of money through false loans and investments, writes FI in a press release.

The 50 companies lack the necessary permits to operate in Sweden.

"False loans are a growing trend that FI has noted in recent times. Scammers offer consumers loans against fees paid in advance. After the fees are paid, consumers, however, receive any loans," writes FI.

According to Moa Langemark, consumer protection economist at FI, it is essential that consumers never pay for loans and credits in advance.

"You should be very skeptical if you are contacted. Hang up and block the person. Do not do business with companies you do not know," says Moa Langemark according to the press release.
