NHL ice hockey is now winding down ahead of the Four Nations Tournament, which begins this week in Montreal and Boston. Filip Forsberg is expected to be one of Tre Kronor's most important players, and he got a boost to his confidence against Buffalo.

Forsberg and teammate Brady Skjei each scored two goals in the win, which was Nashville's first in seven matches.

It was maybe not our best game, but we found the strength to fight throughout the entire game, says Forsberg to nhl.com.

Minnesota beat New York Islanders 6–3 in their last match before the national team break. Tre Kronor goalkeeper Filip Gustavsson made 31 saves for Minnesota.

Gustavsson is expected to take on more responsibility in Tre Kronor at the Four Nations after Jacob Markström's withdrawal due to injury.

Forward Joel Eriksson Ek was scratched from Minnesota's lineup just before face-off due to a lower-body injury.

Eriksson Ek is part of Tre Kronor's squad for the Four Nations, but Minnesota's coach John Hynes tells nhl.com that the injury "is not serious".

Tre Kronor will begin the Four Nations against Canada at 02.00, on the night of February 13.
