FIFA reportedly plans $20 billion deal to sell minority stake in new division

The International Football Association Board (FIFA) is reportedly about to sell a minority stake in a newly formed division of the federation, valued at $20 billion.

According to information provided to the Financial Times (FT), the major bank JPMorgan has been tasked with attracting external investors to invest capital equivalent to 20 percent.

The proceeds from the sale are then intended to be passed on by FIFA to its member associations, according to information provided to the FT.

A similar business arrangement has previously been implemented by the Spanish and French football leagues.
