The charges against the two football tycoons, who head the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the European Football Association (UEFA), have been filed with the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The crimes they are alleged to have committed include allowing Israeli football clubs, based in illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank, to participate in leagues organized by the Israeli Football Association, and arranging matches on land seized from Palestinians, the newspaper writes.
“They also provide financial and structural support to clubs in settlements, some of which have participated in competitions organized by UEFA,” the complainants write to the ICC.
Behind the accusations are several human rights groups, including Irish Sport for Palestine and Scottish Sport for Palestine.
Israel has occupied the Palestinian West Bank since the Six-Day War in 1967. The international community largely considers Israel's settlements in the West Bank to be illegal and an obstacle to peace.
