More and more Swedes are choosing to invest in crypto. The Financial Supervisory Authority (FI) is, however, urging consumers to be vigilant about companies that promise quick money through simple investments.
According to FI, "scammers often lure with various types of crypto assets".
"For many, it's about large sums of money, which can lead to serious problems for the individual. But it also has serious consequences for society at large, since we know that scam money finances the criminal world", says Moa Langemark, consumer protection economist at FI, in a press release.
The number of warnings about fake companies luring with various types of investments has increased compared to last year, according to the Financial Supervisory Authority, which, among other things, urges consumers to be skeptical of, for example, offers on social media.
