I could have shot someone, the police officer tells DN.
The incident occurred in March at Valsätraskolan in Uppsala.
A janitor, who saw a knife-wielding man inside the school, believed it was a school attack and alerted the police.
One of the police officers entered the school with a drawn weapon. The problem was that the alarm was false. The school had purchased a training exercise in ongoing deadly violence (PDV) from a security firm. However, neither the cleaning company nor the police had been informed.
The police are now urging schools to notify the police about exercises by putting up signs outside clearly marking that it is just an exercise.
