When he was stopped at the Öresund Bridge in late May, the driver claimed to work for an established freight company and was wearing a jacket with the company's logo. However, his trousers did not match the uniform and the shipping documents were handwritten and without stamps. The customs inspectors found the man unreliable and therefore decided to examine the cargo, the Swedish Customs Service writes in a press release .
The 24-year-old driver has said in questioning that he was forced to take on the assignment due to a financial debt. The prosecutor is requesting that he be deported for life if convicted.
