The warning applies at present until Friday.
The warning area stretches from the Baltic coast just north of Bollnäs, in to Edsbyn and from there diagonally up towards the Norwegian border via Sveg and northwards. Large parts of Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland, Jämtland and Gävleborg County are affected.
The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) has during the same period eight fire-fighting helicopters and two aircraft on standby in northern Sweden, of which four helicopters in Norrbotten, two in Västerbotten and two in Västernorrland. The two aircraft are stationed in Västerbotten.
The last few days have been dry and warm in the north, with temperatures above 30 degrees.
In inner and central Norrland, SMHI has issued yellow warnings for high temperatures on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
