In late November, the Adoption Commission had to go out and deny reports that it was considering proposals to ban international adoptions. Now, the government is giving the investigators extended time.
"This enables the investigation into Sweden's international adoption activities to complete its mission in the best possible way," writes Social Services Minister Camilla Waltersson Grönvall in a press release.
The Adoption Commission is to investigate any irregularities in Sweden's international adoption activities and propose suitable changes.
The investigation was to be presented on 1 March 2025, but is now being extended until 2 June.
