We do not know what has happened at present. Our initial assessment is that it is a flammable liquid, such as gasoline, that someone has ignited and which has then caused a rapid fire, and it becomes almost like an explosion when you ignite gasoline fumes, says Morten Gunneng, officer on duty at the police.
No one has been arrested, but a large police operation is underway in the area and the national bomb squad has been involved.
We managed to put out the fire quickly and thereby limit the damage, but the apartment has been evacuated and a technical investigation will be conducted, says Gunneng.
The police have initiated a preliminary investigation into arson.
