The party leaders point out that countries such as Sweden and Spain have recognized Palestine and are urging more to do the same.
"Further recognition by European states would strengthen this momentum and send the clear and united message that the EU stands firm on the two-state solution", they write.
The politicians, who among other things demand increased pressure on Israel with sanctions against Benjamin Netanyahu's government, write that the EU must "work together to strengthen the Palestinian state in concrete ways".
They believe it is time to strengthen the EU's agreement with the Palestinian Authority from 1997 and upgrade it to a "fully-fledged association agreement, with provisions for increased economic support, expanded trade links and a more structured political dialogue".
