The announcement that Iranian diplomats and other representatives are being deported comes in a letter from Metsola to parliamentarians.
"Those who brave the dangers on the streets and the political prisoners who remain in prison need more than just solidarity," she writes.
The ban applies to Parliament's premises in Strasbourg, Brussels and Luxembourg.
Earlier on Monday, EU Foreign Affairs Chief Kaja Kallas called for increased sanctions against Iran following the violence against protesters.
"I am ready to propose further sanctions in response to the regime's brutal repression of the protests," she writes in a comment to the news site Politico Europe and the German newspaper Die Welt.
It is absolutely unacceptable that people demonstrating peacefully for their freedom are arrested and killed, says European Commission Chief Spokesperson Paula Pinho.
According to the Commission, an extraordinary meeting on Iran will be held among EU foreign affairs and security ambassadors on Tuesday. At the same time, it is emphasized that full consensus among member states is required to impose new sanctions.
The EU already has sanctions against more than 230 people and 40 companies and organizations in Iran due to the regime's previous harsh actions against protesters.
