The Chinese shopping site Ali Express is threatened with further action from the EU, since a review has considered that it does not act tough enough against illegal products and traders on the site.
The EU Commission has reviewed the site since last spring and is now moving forward with the case – even if only partially. In several areas, for example, regarding the possibility of complaining and tracking traders, openness about advertising and access to information for researchers, Ali Express has agreed to a number of commitments that are welcomed by the EU.
"This decision shows what the Commission has for expectations when we raise complaints," says Commissioner Henna Virkkunen in a press release.
