Environment Commissioner Jessika Roswall and other participants at the EU's environmental minister meeting in Danish Ålborg on Thursday and Friday will be tested to see how much PFAS chemicals they have in their body.
–A study in the Netherlands has shown that the entire population in the Netherlands has different types of PFAS in their blood. And almost everyone has too much PFAS, Roswall states at a press conference in Strasbourg on Tuesday, at the presentation of a new action plan for the chemical industry.
The action plan includes a promise to propose before the turn of the year how the EU's chemical legislation, Reach, will be updated. Additionally, a number of simplifications are promised, both now and later, for reduced bureaucracy and faster permit processes.
The trade union Etuc is however critical and accuses the Commission of sacrificing the workers' health for the companies' profits.
