The Nations League match in Odense was the first match ever where Magdalena Eriksson and Pernille Harder, a couple for many years, faced each other as team captains in a competitive match.
It was actually a very proud moment for me. I felt a little moved when I saw that it was me and Pernille who were both captains, standing by the referee and exchanging pennants with each other. It's a moment that you'll tell your children and grandchildren about, says the blue-yellow center-back after the 2–1 win.
The football match itself received fairly good reviews from Magdalena Eriksson, although there is some room for improvement after the performance Sweden delivered on the chilly February evening.
I think we stood up well. And first and foremost, it's an incredibly important win, Denmark away is no easy match, says Eriksson.
Most notably, the beautiful play was lacking at the end of the match, when Denmark was chasing an equalizer after Fridolina Rolfö's beautiful 2–1 goal. It was also in the final minutes that Pernille Harder was forced to receive treatment, after getting a minor knock in a duel with Eriksson herself.
I claim that I win the ball and that I should have a free kick, that it's her who runs into me. But it's probably something we'll have to discuss, even if we probably won't agree, says the Swede with a laugh.
