The documents from the investigation into the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which are expected to be released soon after US President Donald Trump's approval, are stored in the FBI's archives in the state of Virginia.
Jeffrey Epstein's brother, Mark Epstein, claims in an interview with the television channel NewsNation that FBI Director Kash Patel ordered parts of the documents to be redacted. Without providing any evidence, he says that "a pretty good source" told him that all "Republican names" are being purged.
The brother's statement has sparked reactions on social media, with people urging each other to demonstrate outside the venue to ensure all documents are released. Some have taken it a step further and want to see a storming of the building.
The FBI has taken the reactions seriously and has now deployed police to the building where the documents are stored, two sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.
