US President Donald Trump is distancing himself from one of his former staunchest supporters, Marjorie Taylor Greene. She points to the Epstein scandal to explain the rift.

Taylor Greene has long been perhaps the biggest poster name for Maga, the Trump-supporting movement that translates to "Make America Great Again."

But now the president says the Georgia representative has been “whining, whining, whining” lately, calling her “wacky.” Speaking of not answering her calls anymore, Trump writes that “I can’t take daily calls from a raving lunatic.”

She counters that Trump is "lying about me," and that it was apparently the text message she sent about releasing all the Epstein documents that "was the final straw" for the president.

"Of course he's hitting me hard, to set an example that scares all other Republicans ahead of next week's vote," she writes.

This coming week, the US House of Representatives will vote on whether to release vast amounts of documents about convicted and now-dead sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. As a former friend of Epstein, Trump is being pressed hard about how much he knew about Epstein's abuse of teenage girls.
