On Thursday, there was a surprising loss with 1–2 against Greece, but against Finland – which hadn't taken a single point so far this Nations League season – the Englishmen were back on the winning track.
Jack Grealish gave England the lead in the 18th minute after a dazzling display by Angel Gomes, and with a quarter of the match remaining, Trent Alexander-Arnold extended it to 2–0 with a clever free kick straight into the cross – unstoppable for Finland's goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky.
Declan Rice also wrote himself into the goal protocol when he tapped in 3–0.
Despite England dominating most of the game, there were opportunities for Finland. Among other things, Fredrik Jensen had a fine chance when he shot over from close range. Topi Keskinen also had a superb chance that was saved by Dean Henderson in the English goal.
It wasn't until the 87th minute that Finland got a goal against England, through Arttu Hoskonen, who headed in the consolation goal to a final score of 1–3.
