In its lawsuit, Eminem's music publisher Eight Mile Style lists 243 tracks available on Meta's platforms Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The rap icon claims that Meta violates his copyright through "unauthorized provision, copying, and exploitation" of the music, reports E! News.

Primarily, he targets the app's tools Original Audio and Reels, which "allow and encourage users to steal" the music without permission. Eminem demands $150,000 per track, which multiplied by 243 becomes $109,350,000 or 1.05 billion Swedish kronor.

Meta has entered into comprehensive licensing agreements with record labels, music publishers, and other actors in the music industry to use music on Facebook and Instagram, so it is unclear what lies behind Eminem's lawsuit. Neither Meta nor Eminem has wanted to comment on E! News' reports.
