It was Elvira Öberg's 13th World Cup victory. She has surpassed Anna-Karin Zidek, Helena Ekholm and Hanna Öberg in the number of Swedish biathlon victories. Only Magdalena Forsberg has won more (42).
"It's big, but I think there's still some way to go before 'Magda'," says Öberg.
Öberg finished 16.6 seconds ahead of the runner-up, Finland's Suvi Minkkinen. Her older sister Hanna Öberg came third, just over a minute behind Elvira.
Elvira Öberg started 21 seconds ahead of Minkkinen after winning the sprint on Thursday, and had to ski alone throughout the race.
"It's special. Already on the third lap I thought it was tough and that it was wise not to open up too hard but to ski relaxed," she says.
"I'm super proud of how I'm doing in the competition. That I managed to shoot clean from lane one in that situation - I'm incredibly happy with that."
Elvira Öberg only missed one shot, in the second prone shooting.
The new tactic worked
For the sprint race on Thursday, Elvira Öberg tried a new tactic. She listened to an audiobook during the warm-up and during the race she didn't want any coaching. She just wanted to do her own race and get coaching only on the last lap. She used the same tactic on Sunday.
"I'm very happy that I can stay focused and work with my keys, do my race and take one shooting series at a time. The fact that I've now managed it several times makes me super happy."
Hanna Öberg finished just over a minute behind her sister, in 13th place. She skied fast, had the third-best time of all, and was second best overall in the race despite two crashes.
"It was fun to put together a good biathlon race. It wasn't perfect on the track and not 100% on the hill, but overall it was good," Hanna Öberg told SVT.
"When I got to the last range, I thought it was important to get them all down (and it paid off to shoot full force there)."
"I got motivated"
Frenchwoman Julia Simon, who had to ski two penalty loops at the final shooting, went out just ahead of Hanna Öberg on the last lap.
"I caught sight of her and that's when I got motivated," says Öberg, who passed the Frenchwoman and was more than ten seconds ahead at the finish.
Anna Magnusson finished in seventh place.
