An elderly man died after falling from the balcony of his care and nursing home in Skellefteå. The fatal accident will now be investigated by the Health and Social Care Inspectorate, Ivo, according to SVT Västerbotten.
It was at the end of March that the man fell from his balcony.
We take a serious view of such a terrible accident occurring at one of our workplaces. An intensive investigation is underway, but I cannot say more at this stage, says Åsa Bygdeson, medically responsible nurse at Skellefteå municipality.
Ivo has received two reports about the same incident, a so-called lex Sarah report from social services and one according to lex Maria from healthcare. The accident is also being investigated by the Work Environment Authority and the Police.
