It is not thought to be an injury - instead, both Åsarna skaters are being rested because their bodies are worn after a long season. The Swedish Championships in Umeå have not started so well for the national team stars either. Edvin Anger finished only 28th in the mass start, a race William Poromaa did not start.
It is unclear whether Anger and Poromaa will run Sunday's sprint.
"We'll see how it goes. They'll decide during the day," says Ola Ravald.
The men's 10-kilometer race starts at 3:40 p.m.
