A familiar, however, complaint among taxi victims in Stockholm has been monopoly pricing with some even bearing costs of up to 5000 SEK for a taxi ride from Arlanda airport reports SVT. Some of the customers fall prey to these disguised taxi operators, including fake companies like Taxi Stockholm. Such companies usually take advantage of these situations where the rules are unclear and are active in the pursuit of tourists and residents who get lost in translation.

Taxi Stockholm has filed a lawsuit against these fraudulent companies accusing them of violating its trademark and has also been lobbying for more stringent measures to be put in place to protect consumers from such rip offs.

Rising trend

This rising trend takes into account the fact that there are issues of consumer protection when consumers are transacting in a nearly untouched taxi industry. With stricter enforcement of corporate identity rules and absence pricing policies, there are chances of eliminating such confusion and eventually such occurrences. Taxi Stockholm is in fact on record supporting such proposals as protecting its interest as well as that of the visitors in Stockholm in this case underframes the situation.
