Residents in Arvika, Torsby, Sunne and Grums reported shaking, rattling windows and a loud rumble. According to VG, Norwegian earthquake agencies have registered a magnitude between 3.3 and 3.6.
The quake was registered at 9:24 a.m. on Sunday.
Earthquakes of this size can be felt as far as ten to twelve kilometers away, depending on the circumstances, says seismologist Björn Lund of Uppsala University to NWT.
According to Professor Mathilde Sørensen, a seismologist at the University of Bergen, there is nothing to be afraid of.
Of course it's scary when everything starts shaking around you, but a magnitude of 3.6 is still a very small earthquake in a global context, Sørensen tells VG.
