In front of a packed IFU Arena in Uppsala, the audience got to watch the world's best pole vaulters compete against each other in the Mondo Classic.
In advance, four of the nine jumpers had a year's best over six meters.
But in Thursday's competition, only two jumpers made it past 6.00.
When four jumpers were eliminated at 6.00 - including world number two Emmanouil Karalis - it was down to Armand Duplantis and Norwegian Sondre Guttormsen.
But after Guttormsen failed three times at 6.08, Duplantis went straight from 6.08 to 6.31 and set his 15th world record in front of an ecstatic audience.
"It feels crazy actually, really crazy. It felt like there was a different atmosphere and a different feeling today because everyone is jumping so well right now," Duplantis said.
