The superstar finally got to fulfill his dreams when he on June 15 set a new world record, 6.28, at home on Stockholm's stadium and thus became the first Swede to succeed in breaking a world record at the venerable arena since 1987.
The record was Duplantis' twelfth consecutive record, and on all occasions he has raised the bar by one centimeter. But according to himself, there is much more to give.
I have always believed that I can continue to push myself a little further, and that's what I've shown now. I just want to continue and take 6.30 as soon as possible, he says ahead of Tuesday's competition in the Czech Ostrava.
But the dreams do not stop at 6.30. According to himself, he has another decimeter in him.
I would have liked to take 6.40. It would have been another such crazy milestone, and it feels like it's within my reach.
On Tuesday, Armand Duplantis will therefore have the chance to try to take his 13th consecutive world record, just over a week after the historic jump at home. But that's not all that's happening for the 25-year-old in the near future.
Besides being a pioneer in every way in the sports world, he has shown his other hobby during the year: Music.
In February, Duplantis released his debut single, and now it's time for the sequel.
I'm releasing a new song on Friday, so it's going to be pretty fun actually.
Tuesday's competition in Ostrava starts at 18.00.
