The charges include aggravated assault, causing bodily harm, aggravated assault and reckless driving. The trial against the driver, who was arrested at the scene, is expected to last three to four weeks.
At the first legal hearing in court, held four days after the incident, prosecutors claimed that the man “intentionally used his vehicle as a weapon.”
Police announced early on that the incident was not a terrorist act. No one was killed, but according to police, 134 people were injured. 50 of them were taken to hospital.
The indictment involves 29 victims, including at least six children. Some of them will testify behind screens during the trial.
